Short Bio

Maha was a Ph.D student in the lab during the period of 2001-2004. She is considered a senior lab member. Her research work was in distributed sequence mining. During her study in the lab, she participated in many activities that took place in the lab at that time. She tutored students in data mining class under supervision of Dr. Kantardzic, she made several posters for the lab, and in many times, she had to set data mining soft wares for students. Maha was also involved in a project with Dr. Patricia Cerrito in the mathematic department. The project aimed to the detection of biased selection of employees in favor of particular gender by analyzing employment applications for particular company with data mining tools such as SAS Enterprise Miner. Maha had several published papers in both fields of sequence mining and web mining. Currently she is a post doctorate at Knowledge Discovery & Intelligent Web Applications Lab at UofL. She is now working in the area of web mining which concerns with building a recommender system from analyzing behavior of users on the web.
